The Bad Back Book
Jerry Wayne
"...liked the diverting but pertinent
narrative, the encouraging solution, the
simple exercise program and the book's
small size."
Medical Self-Care Magazine
Actor Jerry Wayne made a five-foot leap
onto the stage his dramatic entrance in
"Finian's Rainbow," the musical. He
remained on his hands and knees until they
rang down the curtain and brought on an
understudy. Thus began a three-year trial
and error search for a cure for his back. He
went to countless doctors, tried agonizing
months of bedrest, acupuncture, and even a
major operation. It was not until Jerry met
Raschad, a therapist who treated
parachutists in Libya, that he found relief.
The first half of the book, told with charm
and candor, recounts his search for a cure.
The second half is a clearly illustrated
group of effective, easy-to-follow exercises
which, if practiced regularly, faithfully, and
conscientiously, "may relieve you as they
did the author, who has been free of back
pain for sixteen years." The thesis is sound:
You strengthen your back. If your back is
strong you will not have backaches. It is
really as simple as that.
